
Benjamin Nii-Lartey Ayiku is a Journalist and filmmaker. He is the Founder and Director of multimedia company-Adonai Studios, a social enterprise that commits about 35% of its earnings to disability advocacy.
Adonai Studios runs a social media disability advocacy campaign called THISABILITY; using short drama films and documentaries to educate the public on disability rights and inclusion.
In 2019, he was awarded by Africa Disability Alliance based in South Africa, as Africa Disability Rights Journalist of the year, for his contribution to disability advocacy in Africa.
In 2021, he was also awarded at the Ghana Disability Excellence Awards-Excellence in Disability Campaign, for his THISABILITY project. In the same year, he was again awarded by YALI TV and the US Embassy in Ghana, for his contributions to disability advocacy in Ghana.
At the 2022 Humanitarian Awards Global, Mr. Benjamin Nii-Lartey Ayiku was once again awarded for his disability advocacy through disability news reporting.
Benjamin Nii-Lartey Ayiku has been in disability advocacy since 2005, when he started by using radio drama and talk shows on Radio Ada, a community radio station based at Ada, to educate the public on disability rights.
He is the Founder and Editor-In-Chief of DisabilityNewsGh.com, Ghana’s first and only disability news platform.
