The team, who recently defended their African Amputee Football Cup of Nations (AAFCON) title in Egypt, received high commendation for their unwavering dedication and inspiring triumph. This victory marked their second consecutive African championship title, their third overall, equaling the record for most titles won and securing their qualification for the 2026 World Cup alongside six other African nations.

Presenting a citation to Black Challenge coach, Richard Obeng, former Black Stars player and current assistant coach John Paintsil said, “We celebrate the extraordinary triumph of the Ghana National Amputee Football Team, the Black Challenge, for their remarkable defense of the AAFCON title this year.”

“Your unwavering determination and resilience have not only brought glory to our nation but have also set an inspiring example of overcoming adversity. We salute you, the Black Challenge, for your dedication and for embodying the true spirit of Ghanaian excellence,” Paintsil added.

The citation concluded with a wish for the team’s continued success: “May your journey continue to be marked by such sterling achievements, and may you keep soaring higher, bringing honour and recognition to our beloved country.”

The Ghana Football Awards ceremony celebrated the outstanding achievements and contributions of football players, coaches, administrators, and other key stakeholders in Ghanaian football.

West Ham United star Mohammed Kudus was awarded the coveted Footballer of the Year award for the second consecutive year.
