What began as a simple act of kindness for a friend in need has blossomed into a decade-long commitment to supporting persons with disabilities for Louis Agyare, a carpenter based in Anyinam in Ghana’s Eastern Region.
Ten years ago, a request from a disabled friend to fix a broken crutch ignited a passion for humanity that continues to drive him to this day.
Louis spends approximately Ghc300 and an entire day meticulously crafting a pair of sturdy wooden crutches, which he then distributes completely free of charge to individuals with disabilities.
His generosity extends far beyond his personal circle; all it takes to benefit from his kindness is his phone number. Louis will either personally deliver the crutches or send them via commercial buses, reaching individuals in need not only within the Eastern Region but also further afield.
His selfless dedication has made him a true blessing to countless individuals living with disabilities, providing them with essential mobility support and restoring their independence.
