The Executive Director of disability advocacy organisation, Extra Helping Hand Foundation has urged the youth, especially those with disabilities to endeavour to challenge all inhibitions, including those presented to them by their conditions and reach their full potentials.

Mr. Takyi Duku Anaman acknowledged that, the current economic hardship in the country and their disabilities could present them with difficulties in pursuing their aspirations. He, however, challenged them to motivate themselves and make efforts to acquire knowledge in their chosen fields to enhance their chances of realising their dreams.

Mr. Duku Anaman was speaking at an inclusive youth breakfast meeting held on Saturday, May 28, 2022, in Accra, by God’s Family Palace and Extra Helping Hand Foundation.

The breakfast meeting which was on the theme, “Embracing emerging opportunities”, was also used to educate the youth on good health and hygiene.

The event created a platform for youths with disabilities those without disabilities to commune and establish networks.

It also aimed at motivating the youth to identify and take advantage of opportunities, despite the harsh economic condition in the country.

They were taught how to overcome their deficiencies and upscale their abilities to achieve their goals.

Mr. Takyi Anaman encouraged them not to allow their disabilities or weaknesses to push them into mediocrity.

Health personnel, Madam Doris Torgbor, admonished the youth to observe personal hygiene at all times, exercise their bodies, eat well and on time, and abstain from drugs, alcohol, consumption of energy drinks, which are injurious to their health.
