The Ghana National Association of the Deaf (GNAD) recently conducted courtesy visits to the Regional Directors of the Ghana Health Service (GHS) in the Upper West, Upper East, and Northern Regions.
The purpose of these visits was to congratulate the directors on their recent appointments and to officially welcome them to their new roles.
During the visits, GNAD presented copies of its Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) Gap Analysis Report, which highlights the unique challenges faced by the Deaf community in accessing sexual and reproductive health services.
The discussions centered on strengthening collaboration between GNAD and the Ghana Health Service to promote inclusive healthcare delivery tailored to the needs of Deaf individuals in these regions.
GNAD also took the opportunity to raise concerns expressed by members of the Deaf community, urging the directors to support efforts to address these critical issues and improve healthcare accessibility.
These engagements underscore GNAD’s commitment to advocating for disability inclusion and enhancing healthcare services for Deaf persons across Northern Ghana.
