DisabilityNewsGH.com wishes to issue a formal clarification regarding our publication of August 11, 2026, titled “Ada East: Procurement Officer Evades Final Disability Fund Probe, Ghost Beneficiaries Exposed.”

In that publication, we reported statements made verbally to the media by the Ad-Hoc Investigation Committee during its final sitting, to the effect that the Procurement Officer, Mr Paul Avortri, was officially invited through the Coordinating Director but failed to appear before the panel.

Subsequent independent checks by DisabilityNewsGH.com, and a review of the intercepted final committee report, have established that:

  1. Mr Paul Avortri was never officially served with an invitation letter by the Assembly Administration / Coordinating Director to appear for the second hearing.
  2. The intercepted written report of the Ad-Hoc Committee contains no mention or finding of non-appearance, misconduct, or evasion against Mr Paul Avortri.
  3. The verbal assertion made to journalists by the Committee during the sitting was factually inaccurate and misleading.

DisabilityNewsGH.com acted in good faith based on official briefings provided by the committee during public proceedings.

We regret the inaccurate impression created by the Committee’s verbal statements regarding Mr Paul Avortri’s non-appearance, and we unreservedly set the record straight in accordance with the highest standards of journalistic ethics and fairness.
