Inclusive Tech Group (ITG), in collaboration with Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and community engagement partners, successfully organised a community engagement workshop and donation drive at the Garden City Special School in Kumasi on 14 May 2026.
The initiative formed part of ITG’s post DI-Hack 2025 activities aimed at promoting inclusive education, accessibility, community empowerment, and positive social impact through collaborative learning and community-centred engagement.
The programme also supported efforts to create inclusive and supportive learning environments for children with diverse educational and developmental needs.
The workshop featured a range of interactive colouring and educational activities focused on environmental sustainability, sanitation, healthy living, and community care.
Dr. Ralitsa Debrah, Design and Innovation Specialist for ITG, facilitated sessions that encouraged creativity, teamwork, participation, and inclusive learning among the pupils.
The event brought together representatives from ITG, KNUST, volunteers, supporting academic units, and community engagement partners.
Facilitators and volunteers worked closely with teachers and school staff to ensure all activities were accessible, enjoyable, and impactful.
As part of the engagement, ITG and its partners organised a donation drive to support the pupils and the school community.
The items donated include learning materials (DI-Hack-branded exercise books, art supplies), assistive tools (communication aids, sensory materials), school essentials (bags, baby cots), groceries, and toiletries.
The initiative reflects its continued commitment to leveraging education, creativity, technology, and community engagement to promote inclusion and accessibility within underserved communities.
The headmistress also expressed sincere appreciation to the sponsors and partners of DI-Hack 2025, whose support contributed to making the post-event community engagement and donation activities possible.
The engagement further strengthened partnerships between ITG, KNUST, community stakeholders, and the Garden City Special School while reinforcing the importance of inclusion, empathy, and sustainable community impact.
