A 25-year-old Senior High Student who has been paralyzed for the past 5 years as a result of a motor accident is appealing to the public to help her get on her feet again.

Remember Esi Daitey, a final year student at the Ada Senior High Technical School was on a motorcycle from her hostel to the campus on November 22, 2018, when a taxi knocked them down.

She was later diagnosed with an incomplete spinal cord injury, making her unable to sit or walk.

After undergoing surgery to correct the situation, she was also required to go through physiotherapy to enable her to walk but that was not done due to lack of money; which has rendered her bedridden since then.

Esi Daitey is not only paralyzed but also unable to pass urine normally. And so for the past three years, she has been relying on a catheter to pass urine.

An amount of Gh¢40,000 is required to correct that condition.

The General Arts student whose dream is to become a Journalist, is appealing to well-meaning members of the public, institutions, and organisations to come to her aid.

The mother, Madam Victoria Daitey, a single parent, laments that the situation is making life very miserable for both her daughter and herself.

She discloses in an exclusive interview with DisabilityNewsGH that, Esi’s condition forced her to sell her only property in the village, a parcel of land but that was not enough to make any significant change in their situation.

She is also calling for support in other forms such as the provision of a wheelchair, and food items, since what to eat is also a challenge for them sometimes.

They are currently perching in a wooden structure on somebody’s undeveloped land.

According to Madam Victoria Daitey, the owner of the land is chasing them out for his property, and that is making matters worse for them.

Donations could be made to Absa Bank Account number 0043531069 with the account name, Remember Daitey or Momo number 0592633529-Daitey Remember.
