The First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Hon. Joseph Osei-Owusu (Joe Wise), was moved to tears when a boy with disability told him that he wanted to become a Doctor.

The Deputy Speaker who is also the Member of Parliament for Bekwai in the Ashanti Region, was on a tour to inspect ongoing road construction projects at Adjamesu, Dominase, Senfi and Ofoase Kokoben, on Saturday, February 5, 2022.

According to eye witness report, at Dominase, the boy who has a speech disability, stopped the MP and managed to utter his ambition to him, “Honorable, I want to go to school and become a Doctor”.

The boy was unable to give any details of himself. And so Joe Wise sent for his family whom he made a promise to take full responsibility for his education so he could live an independent life in future.

In a video sighted by DisabilityNewsGh, the MP tasked the boy’s family to identify his strength and capabilities and also look for a decent and appropriate institution that could help develop his ambition.

The boy, on hearing that, went down on his knees and held the MP’s legs to show appreciation to him. His action broke the MP down and even though he tried to control himself, one could see him teary.
