The Centre for Employment of Persons with Disabilities (CEPD), along with its affiliate bodies, the Ghana Chamber for Entrepreneurs with Disabilities, and the Ghana Disability Forum, has extended warm congratulations to His Excellency John Dramani Mahama on his swearing-in as President of the Republic of Ghana.
In a formal statement released on Saturday, January 11, 2025, the organisations expressed their confidence in President Mahama’s vision and leadership, emphasising their readiness to collaborate with the new administration to create a more inclusive and prosperous Ghana for all.
“We have no doubt in your vision and leadership to steer the nation towards prosperity and inclusiveness,” the statement read. “The disability community stands ready to support and partner with you in your agenda of resetting and building the Ghana we all aspire to see.”
The statement highlighted the organisations’ belief that through collaboration, a society can be created where all individuals, regardless of their abilities, have equal opportunities to contribute to national development. They emphasised their commitment to working with the government to achieve this goal.
“We believe that together, with a spirit of collaboration, we can create a society where everyone, regardless of ability, has an equal opportunity to contribute meaningfully to national development,” the statement continued.
The organisations also expressed their hope that President Mahama’s tenure would be marked by transformative success and that he would leave a lasting legacy of unity and progress for all Ghanaians.
“May your tenure be characterised by transformative success and leave a lasting legacy of unity and progress for all,” the statement said.
The message concluded with congratulations and well wishes for wisdom, strength, and good health in President Mahama’s new role.
