Top Ghanaian Para Athlete, Raphael Botsyo Nkegbe is in the USA, preparing for big international assignments coming up.

According to the experienced Para Athlete and former captain of Team Ghana at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, he is leaving no stone unturned to leave a name and legacy in Para Sports in Ghana and Africa.

He notes that the African Para Games in September in Ghana will be very exciting and hopes to perform well and win before his country’s people.

“I have prepared well and the preparation is still ongoing as I want to do something big to go into the record books” he states.

He also wants qualification for the Paris Paralympics Games 2024.

According to Nkegbe, a member of the GoGetDem Club in Accra, this year will be his eighth participation in the Desert Challenge.

In the 2019 event, he broke the National and African records on the same track, making him the current African record holder in the 100m T54 category.

He also won silver in the 100m T54 category last year and he is looking forward to retaining that record.

The Truck Meet Desert Challenge is scheduled for May 24 to 28, 2023, which also serves as qualification for the World Championship this year July 8 to 17, in Paris, France.
