He holds a Diploma in Education, a Bachelor of Arts in Geography, and a Master of Philosophy in Geography, all from the University of Cape Coast, as well as a Doctorate in Disability Studies from the University of Illinois at Chicago.

His expertise lies in disability theory, deaf studies, sexual and reproductive health, particularly as it relates to disabled persons, and disability-inclusive policies.

Throughout his career, Professor Mprah has conducted extensive research, both locally and internationally, on sexual and reproductive health, mental health education, and the employment of persons with disabilities.

His commitment to advocacy is reflected in his roles as a member of the technical committee reviewing Ghana’s Persons with Disability Act, 715, and as a member of both the Ghanaian Sign Language Curriculum Development Committee and the Curriculum Review for Inclusivity in Education Expert Advisory Panel.

Professor Mprah’s promotion serves as a powerful reminder that disability is not inability. His achievements, along with those of other pioneering individuals like Juventus Duorinaah, demonstrate that with equal opportunities and the necessary support, people with disabilities can achieve remarkable things.
