Inclusion For All – Ghana (IFAG) and Engage Now Africa (ENA) took their disability rights advocacy school tour to Chris Great Unique International School in the Kpone-Katamanso District of the Greater Accra Region, on Friday, February 13, 2026.

The interactive session aimed to promote inclusivity and raise awareness about disability rights among students and teachers alike.

The session, which kicked off the organisations’ 2026 activities, engaged students, including two learners with albinism and one with cerebral palsy, on embracing diversity, empathy, and inclusion.

Using short drama films, a documentary, and an open forum, the team drove home the importance of supporting students with disabilities.

“We had a blast with the kids who participated actively and showed great understanding of issues like embracing diversity, empathy, and inclusion,” said organisers.

The students were enthusiastic about sharing their experiences and learning from their peers with disabilities.

The headmaster and teachers received tips on strengthening inclusion, with the headmaster requesting another session for lower primary students excluded due to space constraints.

“We want to ensure all our students benefit from this initiative,” he said.

A teacher, Mr. Anang, praised the initiative, saying it will help children cultivate a positive attitude towards peers with disabilities and help change societal mindsets about disability.

“The children will carry these lessons to their homes and various communities, helping to debunk misconceptions about disability and people with such conditions,” he added.

The advocacy tour is part of IFAG and ENA’s efforts to promote inclusivity and support for people with disabilities in Ghana.

“Our goal is to create a society where everyone, regardless of their abilities, can thrive,” said Mr. Francis-Jackson Ahiable, The Executive Director of IFAG.

He added, “We’re committed to continuing this important work and appreciate the support of schools and communities.”

The organisations plan to continue their advocacy efforts in other schools and communities across Ghana.
