Mr. Adongo, a member of the Ghana Blind Union and Deputy CEO of the National Youth Authority (NYA), joined the meeting, bringing both his expertise in youth development and his personal commitment to disability rights to the discussion.

The discussion focused on how the National Apprenticeship Programme can serve as a key step towards skills development and economic empowerment for deaf constituents, a segment of the population who often face barriers to accessing educational and employment opportunities.

Dr. Agyemang-Rawlings reaffirmed her commitment to making Klottey-Korle a truly inclusive constituency, where all residents, regardless of disability, have an equal opportunity to thrive.

She emphasised the importance of creating pathways for skills development and economic empowerment for all members of the community.

The National Apprenticeship Programme, aimed at reducing unemployment among youth and persons with disabilities, was a key campaign promise of the NDC ahead of the 2024 elections.
