The donation, valued at Ghc7,000, included bags of rice, cooking oil, tins of tomato paste, and 300 branded exercise books.

According to Mr. Joseph Aboagye, Project Coordinator at ITG, the donation marks the beginning of a long-term partnership aimed at enhancing digital education at the school.

During a visit to the school’s two ICT labs, ITG representatives observed significant deficiencies, including malfunctioning and outdated computers, poor ventilation due to malfunctioning fans, lack of internet connectivity, and inadequate lighting.

Mr. Aboagye pledged to report these challenges to ITG leadership and explore ways to provide assistance. He also called on other organisations to collaborate in addressing the school’s needs.

Mr. Isaac Arthur, Headmaster of the Tetteh Ocloo State School for the Deaf, expressed his gratitude for the donation, describing it as a timely intervention, given the school’s current challenges with feeding its 319 students, who range from Kindergarten to Junior High level.

“These items will go a long way to help the upkeep and studies of the children,” Mr. Arthur said.

Suwaibatu, one of the learners, speaking through an interpreter, echoed this sentiment, applauding Inclusive Tech Group for their kindness and expressing hope for continued support.

The Tetteh Ocloo State School for the Deaf also operates a vocational training department, serving 25 junior high graduates and offering training in hairdressing, sewing, kente weaving, smock making, and carpentry.

Mr. Arthur invited the public to visit the school and support the vocational department by patronizing the services and products created by the students.
