The Ghana National Association of the Deaf (GNAD) has announced the successful distribution of its new storybook, “SIGN LANGUAGE SAVES,” to Savelugu and Gbeogo Schools for the Deaf.
The innovative resource, funded by Danske Døves Landsforbund (DDL), aims to improve disaster preparedness among Deaf learners by highlighting the crucial role of sign language.
The storybook incorporates several features designed to maximize accessibility and engagement. These include a translated video in Ghanaian Sign Language, voiceovers in three local languages and English, and scannable QR codes providing easy access to the video content.
GNAD expressed its gratitude to DDL for their generous support in making this project a reality.
The initiative represents a significant step towards creating a more inclusive and accessible education system for Deaf students in Ghana.
